Batavia Lyceum Association

An endeavor most educational and philosophical, a gathering most intellectual and satirical and hysterical and libational.

(Doors open at 6 p.m. at The Sidecar Supper Club in downtown B-town on 8/1/22; lyceum begins at 7 p.m.)

This Month: Nate Leman and Luke Regan will ping-pong the topic: What is Beauty?

Nate Leman --

Graduating class of BHS class of ’99; has been a teacher for 20+ years. Has lived overseas and loves to travel and learn from what the world is teaching. Works on the daily with high school students helping them see, understand, and wrestle with stories & questions and the possible answers. Is not one to look for elusive "right" answers, but in following the river of curiosity to see what is revealed under the next proverbial stone.

Luke Regan --

Graduating class of BHS class of ’04; has been a lab scientist and teacher. Has spent many days living in Chicago, climbing various rocks, and counting cells under microscopes that cost more than the average Batavia car(!) Works on the daily with high school students helping them see, understand and wrestle with data & questions and the possible answers. An astute observation-maker and provocateur of mischief ... who planted the seeds for students which drove them to craft their own peer-reviewed research journal, and (may have) encouraged them that Nate is his arch-rival (setting off a years' long ping-pong battle of students visiting both classes to see what the other might say!)
